About Me.....

William West was born into a family of musicians, in South Baton Rouge, La. As a young child, his grandparents noticed immediately he had a love for music. It was especially evident his passion for the drums. His grandmother Rosemary S. Hatch, was always singing and praising  Jesus. She spread her singing ministry from church to church.  She often took young William with her as she lifted her voice in praise. This encouraged William to use his gift. Every chance he got on the drums, helped developed his abilities to become a talented musician. William grew up learning from Erik Parker and Marchand Bolden. They vigorously worked at cultivating his gift. Pouring into him constantly to increase his knowledge of music. Oftentimes, Erik would take William to late-night rehearsals and studio sessions. This offered him the opportunity to watch and learn from older, more skilled musicians. As the years passed, William gained great exposure, playing at local churches, bars and music venues. He worked with various solo artists, groups, and choirs. This was just the beginning of young William's destiny.
